In 2007, my brother-in-law showed me a photo of two red beaked sea-gulls standing on a bench in New Zealand and my brother yellow-beaked twins at Antarctica this February.
To share with Felix his experience at sea with sea gulls flying alongside with the ferry he was riding on, here I post a photo of similar seagulls that flied at the same speed of a launch at Sendai (仙台), Japan(photo provided by my sister-in-law during one of her travels). The sea gulls were so skilful in catching the food the tourists threw to them. This is always an entertainment at sea around the area.

They certainly look very dignified indeed, making seas and oceans more lively.
