Popeye arrives in Hong Kong

Recently, Popeye, the Sailorman, appears at Sunshine City, Ma On Shan, Hong Kong. There will be Sports Meets in the shopping centre for children only during this hot summer.

Event 1 – Weight-lifting
Event 2 – Boxing
Event 3 – Striking tennis balls into small holes on a wall
Event 4 – 6-lane running tracks for children
Event 5 – Shooting at pictures of the characters with football
Event 6 – Playing of sports TV games (beach volley ball, bowling, table-tennis,….)
Event 7 – Planting of spinach seedlings

I remember that in the old days, Popeye Cartoon films were usually shown in cinemas to fill the gaps for reasons, say, if the original film was too short or the films had not yet arrived at the cinema.

Back to the characters of the film:

Popeye is supposed to be a middle-aged sailor with his unique strange way of speaking. His features are – muscular forearms with two anchor tattoos, thinning hair, and he always carries a corncob pipe.

The writer placed him in conflict with enemies such as the Sea Hag and Bluto. It is always the case that Popeye is punched by the much larger Bluto and Popeye becomes ridiculously strong after eating a can of spinach.

There is a love triangle between Popeye, Olive and Bluto, and the latter endlessly claim s Olive at Popeye's expense. Very often Popeye overhears of villain plots and "accidentally" sneaking on the villains. Popeye uses his fists, in the name of justice, to beat all the villains.
