In my primary school days, there was a subject called 常識科. Somehow or other, I learned that Japan was divided into 4 main regions – Hokkaido (北海道), Honshu (本州), Shikoku (四國) and Kyushu (九州).In the secondary school days, we did not study much about the Geography of Japan. Thus Japan, to me, is still a mystery.
Now in 2008, after watching the programme about 關西遊, I begin to know more about the subdivisions of Japan. (See the top photo)
關西 can be further divided into smaller regions in which Osaka (大阪) is one:
1. 淡路島
2. 兵庫
3. 京都
4. 滋賀
5. 大阪
6. 奈良
7. 和歌山

We are very ignorant about history but we believe that Japan's origin and culture had a lot to to with China and yet this country had also caused so much suffering to the Chinese people in the past.
