Leaves stitched with laces

The photos above show leaves in two different parts of the world stitched with laces:

[A] The leaves on the left-hand side grow in summer Hong Kong at a temperature of around an average of 30 degrees Celcius. The colours are mainly purplish red, but yellowish green near the stalk and fringing the tooth-like edges.

[B] The leaves on the right-hand side grew in winter Vancouver at a temperature around 0 degree Celcius. The colour of the leaves are green, but stitched with a lace of an overnight frost.
