A London Bus

A London bus arrived at the National Stadium (Bird’s Nest) on August 24th, 2008. What would happen to this bus at the Closing Ceremony of the Beijing Olympics?

To our surprise, its upper deck could be opened and the bus soon turned out to be a stage where 2 platforms were erected so that the spectators at the Stadium could see the performance of a lady singer and the kicking of a football by David Beckham, the most famous footballer in Britain.

The umbrellas at the side of bus showed three things:
1. When people attend the London Olympics on 2012, they should carry “umbrellas”.
2. The letters “L”, “O”, “N”, “D”, “O”, “N” on the umbrellas remind people of the “City” which will hold the next Olympics.
3. The colours used on the umbrellas differ a little on the tones, but still those, red, blue and white (for the letters) on the British Flag.

The side wall of the bus in the third last photo showed the skyline of London. The famous Sky-wheel, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben and London Bridge could be seen.
