Over the past seven weeks, each time when our car passed a petrol station in Vancouver, Canada. I looked at the price of petrol. There were ups and downs of the prices. The lowest one was about C$98 something for each 100 litres. Yesterday the price rose to C$108.4 for 100 litres (equivalent to HK$7.8 per litre).The latest prices of petrol in Hog Kong are HK$14.03 per litre (shell unleaded) and HK$14.88 per litre (shell V Power).
I wonder what the prices of petrol in Australia or United States or Japan are recently?

The unleaded petrol price fluctuates between Aus. $1.13 to $1.28, being the cheapest on Tuesdays and the dearest on Thursdays.
Petrol in Australia is slightly dearer than that in Canada.
Go to fill up the tank of your car on a Tuesday then since petrol is cheapest on that day.
In San Francisco Bay Area gasoline (i.e., petrol) prices fluctuate a lot from day to day. Currently "regular" grade (cheapest) unleaded gasoline is $3.199/gallon or US$0.84/Liter. There are 2 better grades, at $3.299/gal and $3.399/gal respectively (These have better octane numbers.)
Don't how the prices look like when converted to Aus currency.

US$1 is equivalent to HK$7.75.
A$1 is equivalent to HK$7.01 today.
By calculation,
the price of petrol per litre (in terms of Australian dollars) in San Francisco
= A$ (0.84 x 7.75 / 7.01)
= A$0.9287 (corr. to 4 sig. fig)
You see, the cheapest kind of petrol in your area is much cheaper than those in Australia and Canada.
