Eighth Day of Beijing Olympics (1 Gold medal)

China got only 1 Gold medal yesterday, August 16^th, in Women’s Singles Badminton Competition. It was a game between two Chinese players, ZHANG Ning (張寧) and XIE Xingfong (謝杏芳). The Match was tough and exciting to watch. Finally, ZHANG got the champion title.

After the Game, she knelt down to the ground. She was greatly moved by her victory and this Gold medal might be her last one she got. Most probably she will retire after this game and she said that the "Victory" put a “Perfect” full-stop to her athletic life.

The accumulative score of Gold medals to China reached 27 yesterday.
