Fireworks on Chinese National Day

To celebrate our Chinese National Day, 2008, we had a fireworks display over Victoria Harbour yesterday night.

The fireworks display lasted for 23 minutes with more than 23,000 fireworks set off.

With the beautiful night view and lit-up buildings around the harbor as background, the fireworks made up even better and spectacular pictures of the year for Hong Kong.

(1) Silvery lines made by fireworks went across the sky to form a picture of beautiful trees.


(2) Big and small firework balls looked very much like chrysanthemums.

(3) There were altogether eight chapters in the fireworks display.
This was one of them called “祥雲飄逸”. The fireworks this time were no more monochrome. Each spherical firework ball was composed of different colours (似七彩花球). There were rings with colourful centres.









(4) These fireworks looked like clouds (祥雲).

(5) Red balls of fireworks brightened the sky over Wanchai and Central.

(6) Fireworks in mid-air and close at sea level in Victoria Harbour (天水煙花齊呼應)

(7) This picture is similar to what I (with the help of students) put on the back-drop in the school hall on anniversary nite of CCSC 20th Anniversary.

(8) Sparkling 3-D balls of fireworks over the spire of Central Plaza in Wanchai.

(9) A Colour-blending Parade in fireworks. What a marvelous sight!
