I love the street scenes in the Japanese Animated film, Kiki’s Delivery Service. The scenes are a mixture of different cities, say Paris, San Francisco and some other cities in Europe.
The artists in making such a film must have based on the photos taken from different countries, mostly European and put Kiki into them.
Evidence 1: Kiki is flying over some European-styled houses.

Evidence 2: The fishing boats at the busy pier are old-fashioned European ones and most of the fishermen were fair-haired and some have mustaches.
Evidence 3: The trams that run up and down hills look very much like those at San Francisco. The cars and buses running were very old (probably in the 40’s).

Evidence 4: In the streets of the city, the ladies wear long skirts and the shop “Boss” is famous for its fashioned wears and fragrances.
Evidence 5: The hat of the policeman is tall. It looks like one worn by a French Policeman.

Evidence 6: The streets look like those in Europe which are narrow and stone-made and the houses are painted in bright colours.

We also love European style cities.
