I have never seen the Merlion in Singapore during night time. It is quite beautiful when it is lit by spotlights.
Last time when I went to see it, water did not run out from its mouth. I really felt disappointed at that time.
Bad news came yesterday (March 1st, 2009) that the Merlion was damaged during thunder. A flash of lightning sparked at its head. Thus a scar was made there turning it into a wounded Merlion. “Painful, isn’t it, Merlion?”

What a pity but we are pretty sure that the Singapore government will rectify the damage as soon as possible to such an icon.
