They grow as (evergreen) shrubs inside North District Park, but trees in a small park at Shatin.
They appeared in dome-shapes which can grow up to 4.5 metres tall with a spread of 3 metres wide.
The leaves vary in their shapes - elliptic, or oval or fiddle-like or in 3 sharp pointed lobes. The star-shaped flowers grow in clusters and bloom all year round. Their colours are lovely scarlet to vermilion.
The plants contain a milky sap which irritates our skin and is poisonous when eaten.
