The Largest Knitted Bear in Asia

To bring warmth to this Christmas, Sunshine City (新港城) invited the fastest knitter in Guinness Record (118 knits/minute), Miriam Tegels, a Dutch lady, to come to Hong Kong. She made, with the help of more than 100 workers knitting simultaneously, a 500 kg, 15-feet tall colourful bear. This bear was woven from 8000 knitting yarn balls in a month’s time.

This bear looked pretty happy, lovely and cute. In front of it were some other smaller bears holding up two knitting needles. Surrounding the bears were a number of Christmas presents in different shapes. What a joyous atmosphere this shopping centre had brought to the people visiting it!
