On September 2nd, 2007, Yin Ping and Ho Keung started their journey inland by Highway 1, northward from Wellington. On the way to Rototua, they saw cattle on the green fields. New Zealand is famous for this kind of cattle farming because the dairy cattle produce milk for overseas markets.
They saw the beautiful snow-clad mountain, Mt. Ruapehu (2797 m.), on their left. Yin Ping told me that it was a skiing venue. After some time, they arrived at the largest lake in New Zealand called Lake Taupo. To me, it looks like an open sea. The water in the lake glittered as the light of the setting sun shone on its surface.
The next kind of tame animals came into sight was the deer. The deer farming and the beautiful surroundings were fascinating to Ho Keung’s couple.

Thank you, we didn't even notice that we were on Highway 1.
Yes, lake Taupo is very much like an open sea because it is basically round in shape. Some other lakes are long and narrow.
