Two Pieces of News

Ngong Ping 360 will reopen on December 31st. These days its stations at Tung Chung and Ngong Ping were crowded with the relatives of the MTR staffs because they can have free rides for tests of Cable cars.

I discover that the cable cars at Rotorua, New Zealand, look very much like ours of Ngong Ping 360. Do you agree with me?

On New Year Eve our IFC (International Financial Centre), second phase, will perform a small firework-like show together with multimedia lightings and music. The show will last for two minutes. The highlight of the show will fall on the twenty second fire-and-smoke count down show on the outside wall of this tall building.

We suppose the 360 means 360 degree panoramic view? To us,the cable cars at Ngong Ping, Ocean Park and those at New Zealand are quite similar.

Are you going to watch the show on New Year's Eve ?
We read from the news that in Sydney, this year's firework will be especially spectacular with the Harbour Bridge as the centre stage. We don't know whether people in Hong Kong will be able to watch from the television or not. The theme is " The time of our lives ".

On New Year Eve every year, Australia celebrates for New Year earlier than we do in Hong Kong and our late news in our TV channels often show the fireworks that sparkle over the Sydney Harbour Bridge.

It is a glorious sight of the fireworks on your side every time we watch TV news in that hour.
