Looking at Our Earth from Space

Thanks to Sunita Williams, an American female astronaut, who shared her photos taken from Space with us.

In the past, people could only look at the sky, clouds and stars from our plant, Earth. Shortly after spacecrafts flied out of our atmosphere into space that astronauts brought home beautiful photos of the Earth taken from Space.

These photos show that the Earth is round. Blue represents oceans and seas. Green represents lowlands and light orange to brown represents high mountains. It is like opening a school atlas before us. Although our Earth is small when compared with the other planets, it is so colourful and full of life. We should be thankful in living in such a paradise protected by a layer of Atmosphere.

The white clouds seem to have ruined the photos of the Earth because they have hidden some of our lands and seas. In spite of this, their existence is very important to us. Their movements means winds which bring rain to us and can, in many ways, influence and moderate our weather.
