Felix’s Visit in Hong Kong 2006 (7)

Felix and Audrey had to fly back to SFO at about noon on May 7^th. My wife and I arrived at Miramar around eight o’clock in the morning. They were ready with their 3 heavily loaded suit-cases at the doorway. Fortunately my car was able to house them and their luggage, otherwise, I would feel embarrassed….. It took me less than three-quarters of an hour to reach Chek Lap Kok. I dropped them first and parked my car at the car-park on the open ground.

My wife was with Felix and Audrey. They went to the UA counters in the Departure Hall to have their seats confirmed. Before this, they had their luggage examined first, several yards away from the counters. This was the same situation we faced last time we flied to U.S. We understood that it was merely a security measure.

While Felix and Audrey were at the counters getting the tickets, we discovered two familiar faces, both were my wife’s colleagues, Mr. and Mrs. Sun. It so happened that Mr. Sun was my classmate in QES. Here we gathered two families who were going back to San Francisco on the same plane.

To make ourselves comfortable and fill our stomachs, I suggested going to Maxim’s Restaurant to have tea and dim-sums. There six of us kept talking and talking until it was time for our guests ( I was proud to be the host at the table) to go to the Departure Gate. Felix waved his big hand at us to signal good-bye to Hong Kong and to me and wife. Next, my wife’s colleagues and mine had to bear those eleven-hour long flight home! Ugh, painful and boring!
