Post Boxes

In the past, there were red round pillar boxes for mailing letters in Hong Kong. They possessed very strong British “feel”.

After 1997, the shape of the post boxes (letter boxes) changes to an “ice-bar”. The colour changes to green. There are no more “crowns” and the letters “ER”. The symbol of the Hong Kong Post also changes to a “bird”. In Central, these post boxes stand in pairs, one for normal letter posting and another for large-sized mails. They come from a newer design. The old ones are just rectangular green boxes supported by purple stands.

In Australia, the post boxes are in striking colours, red for “ordinary” post and yellow for “express” post. They look like those “water” road blocks in streets. People easily spot them out from a long distance!
