The Toaster

The Opera House at Sydney Harbour is outstanding in architecture. It looks like several slices of an orange placed at different angles. This symbolic building structure for Sydney often appears in television broadcast and newspaper. Once you see the Opera House, you know that there is something to do with Australia or more exactly Sydney!

Unfortunately, a new building not far from the Opera House spoil the view of the harbour. People of Australia call it the “Toaster” meaning that it really looks like a toaster placed next to this big piece of art. This rectangular building does not match with the wavy shape of the Opera House at all. There is not a single bit of harmony between the two structures (格格不入)!
